In 1953, starting with a quarter horsepower motor, SDI began its journey in Changhua with 3,000 dollars capital,
becoming Taiwan's first metal processing factory.
After producing Taiwan's first fully self-made pencil knife, SDI transformed from a family workshop into a corporation, gaining recognition in the metal industry.
In essence, the history of SDI corporation represents the history of Taiwan’s metal processing industry
